A few days ago we drove up to Asheville, NC to see my favorite band Khruangbin

The band played every song from their latest album "The Universe Smiles Upon You", but also covered funk music from around the world. One of the highlights was a Lebanese funk tune from the 70's. It segued into a little talk from the guitarist about the importance of "the funk." I'm paraphrasing:

"The funk is the enemy of evil regimes everywhere. Any time they get into power they try to squash the funk. Look at Iran in the 70's. That place was funky as hell, but by the early 80's not so funky anymore. We can't let that happen here. We gotta keep the funk strong."

Stay funky y'all. The universe smiles upon you
